mod 10 art masks

This mask was carved for the king of Benin. He never wore it around his face, only around his neck or on his hip. I chose this mask because it really stood out to me. It looked like the face of an actual person. The way it was carved really resembled the characteristics of an african mans face. The elements are shape and line. The principles are proportion and emphasis.

I chose this mask because i liked the expression. I thought it was cool how the carver of this mask made it look like a surprised face. The principles are rythme and proportion. The elements are shape and value.

I chose this mask because it was and animal and a human at the same time which i thought was cool. I looked really interesting to me, It was a face with tiger like stripes. Elements in this mask is line and value. Principles for this mask would be pattern and movement.
I used the elements of texture and color and i used the principles of balance. Creating these mask were fun.im not really a good artist so i tried my best. The one in the middle is the finished product.
