1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met?
Well i first attempted to take this course last semester i believe and ended up withdrawing because i felt it was alot of work for me to handle at the time. When i took this course again i felt more confident about it. my expectations was that i would learn about different art in different eras and cultures and i was right. I didn't expect for me to enjoy it and i was wrong. I really liked this course and learned alot from it.
2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your initial posting?
I still agree with my initial posting. In my initial posting i basically said art was self expression. That art was free and could be anything that you did to express emotion. I can add that art is also history, inventive, and reserved. The reason i say reserved is because there was a time before art became more of a self expression where artists only painted things they saw around them. I call that reserved.
3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so?
My favorite artist in my original posting was a photographer named Stuart Pettican. I still enjoy him as an artist but i found a new liking for Anders
Petersen. As we were giving projects where we had to look up art work i cam across him a couple of times and really started to enjoy his work.
4. Now that you've completed this course, how do you feel about taking an online course? Is your answer the same as it was in your first posting? How is it the same or different?
I love online courses. This wasn't my first one so i already knew what to expect. I love the idea of working at my own pace and never leaving the house. I think with online courses i learn better as well. I'm more the type of person who needs to self teach in order to understand so i like the fact that there was lot of reading and doing thing by ourselves for this course.
